New Name for School
Changkat Changi Primary School will be known as Changkat Primary School when it is relocated to a new building in Simei Street 3.
The new school, costing $5 million, will be handed over to the Education Ministry by the Public Works Department today.

School Names to Stay
There is no need to change the names of two schools in Changi constituency, Senior Minister of State (Education) Tay Eng Soon said on Wednesday.
He was replying to Mr Teo Chong Tee (Changi), who asked if the schools should be renamed since they were now in his constituency.
Dr Tay said Changkat Primary School had changed its name only last June to reflect the constituency it was in at the time. Another change so soon would not be desirable.
Changkat Changi Secondary School had begun to establish a good reputation in its neighbourhood and should therefore continue to build pride in its identity, said Dr Tay.
